Ciao Checca "slow street food" means healthy, enviromentally respectful dishes inspired by home flavours and memories. The colorful and varied menu includes ditaloni rigati with diced fresh tomatoes and DOP buffalo mozzarella (the pasta alla checca), pesto and pine nuts tagliolini, Rascino lentils (Slow Food Presidia) soup, meatballs with tomatoe sauce, oven frittata and marinated chicken salad. Smoothies, fresh vegetable juices and artisanal beers complete the offer along with home made desserts like pies and cocoa ricotta. Everything can also be enjoyed while walking thanks to biodegradable containers
The Ciao Checca brand established itself in the field by working in a visibly favorable yet highly competitive area of Rome in terms of client fidelity. One of the format achievements was to convince even the more skeptics that a well made pasta dish could be served in compostable containers while proving that Italian traditional recipes can coexist with modern interpretations and informal ambiance where to appreciate genuine products and valid executions.
Inspired by other street food experiences from time spent abroad, the creators of Ciao Checca sought to invigorate their love for classic pasta dishes with a contemporary, regional twist. If you’re close to the Pantheon, be sure to stop at Ciao Checca for the Roman classic pasta alla checca.
Form warm made to order breakfasts to gluten free pasta via cheeseburgers and hearty chickpea soups, this premium quality fast food caters to the needs of many. Expect crowds and seasonally inspired dishes served in compostable containers also suitable for take-away. The name homages a typical roman recipe; the pasta alla checca.
Ciao Checca is a place projected in the future; as well as being fun, dynamic, tasty and rich in historical references; from 1943 and until the liberation of Rome, partisans and members of the resistance used to meet in the storage room below the restaurant currently used as a dispensary by Ciao Checca. Which is a form of human/gastronomic resistance in its own right.
